INVITATION TO “GREENING VIETNAM: GREEN PRODUCT AWARDS 2016” VIETNAM URBAN FORUM
Vietnam Urban Forum (VUF) was established in 2003 based on the approval by the Prime Minister and Memorandum of Understanding signed by the Ministry of Construction and member organizations.
Vietnam Urban Forum is chaired by the Minister of Construction and co-chaired by the World Bank’s Country Director for Vietnam. The Vice Minister of Construction is appointed to head the Executive Board and in charge of operating activities of VUF. The Urban Development Agency – Ministry of Construction is the standing agency of VUF. The VUF standing office is located in the Urban Development Agency – Ministry of Construction. Up to present, Vietnam Urban Forum has gone through nearly 15 years of development with participation of more than 110 member organizations.
Following the National Green Growth Strategy and National Action Plan on Green Growth period 2014-2020 approved by the Prime Minister, Vietnam Urban Forum has been organizing a number of activities which aim at promoting the development of urban green growth in Vietnam, for example: to launch Vietnam urban green growth in November 2013, to organize national and international conferences and workshops on urban green growth, to organize Vietnam Urban Green Growth Week in November 2015.
The topic of development of urban green growth remains one of the focuses of the Vietnam Urban Forum in 2016. This is also a matter of concern to many international organizations and nations, and a focal topic of the Global Housing Conference Habitat III which is organized every 20 years and is going to be held in October.
In order to strongly impulse urban development in Vietnam towards green growth, green construction products play critical role in realizing orientations, objectives and planning solutions, investment in urban green growth. In order to honor the outstanding green construction products in Vietnam, the Vietnam Urban Forum, in association with BCI Asia Vietnam- a member of VUF, organizes an award of environmentally friendly construction products namely “Greening Viet Nam: Green Product Awards 2016” for manufacturers and distribution companies of 4 major construction product categories: (1) Architecture; (2) Civil and Structure; (3) Mechanics and (4) Electricity. The organization board will invite experts working in construction field and representing product users including developers, architects, consultants, designers and contractors to evaluate and select awarded products based on following 05 criteria:
Their general awareness of your brand;
Their brand of choice with regard to sustainability;
Their brand of choice with regard to health and environmental protection;
Their brand of choice with regard to innovation;
Their brand of choice with regard to energy efficiency.
The winners will be honored at the event of Vietnam Urban Day on 8 November 2016 in Hanoi. The organizers plan to invite representatives of leaders of the Central Party, National Assembly, Government, ministries, international organizations, non-governmental organizations, enterprises, research units, Construction Association, professional associations and member organizations of VUF.
Deadline for application: 01 July 2016 to 15 August 2016.
